Modern Ways Green Energy Is Developing
Green energy is the key to the world's health. We will be able to find renewable energy and still enjoy all of the benefits that energy gives us--without the world suffering in return. Renewable means we can make or harness more of it, which is the only way we are going to be able to sustain our current way of life. Renewable energy, ideally, will be gotten from something natural like the wind, water, or sun so we are not polluting.
Wind farms have started popping up everywhere. Making the wind work for you is an old idea, as we can see from windmills. Wind can move a lot at no effort on your part, making labor easier. Lately, wind turbines, which are a sort of modern day windmill structure, are being used to create energy.
Surprisingly, not everyone agrees with turbines. The silliest of all is the debate over whether or not they are pretty to look at. Some people do not want turbines on their land because they thing they are ugly. This argument is ignorant, selfish, and harmful to the future. A reasonable argument is that a turbine might disrupt the plant and animal life there. There is also validity in the fact that turbines require a lot of energy to get started whenever the wind dies. On a more personal level, people can make their houses green to reduce their own carbon footprint and lessen their dependence on oil. Solar panels for electricity and heat are the new wave to green living. They are put on your roof and collect sunlight during the day, which is transformed into heat and energy. Your house is powered without anything more than the sun.
There are flaws here, too. Firstly, these panels can be very pricey since they have to be installed professionally to work at all. Some cannot afford them outright, though in the long run the panels will pay for themselves by cutting your heating and electricity bills. The other problems is that there are pollutants and waste created in the making of each panel. Once we can find a more ecology-friendly way of making them, they may become mandatory because their benefit is so huge.
One way to go green is using energy from the ocean's waves. Tidal energy has not been well-developed yet and it will be many years before we see it used to its full potential. It is a great source of green energy because the tides are reliable, unlike the wind, and have a massive amount of energy behind them. Once we can harness it correctly and without detriment, many environmental problems will be on the path to healing.
Another personal way to go green is to invest in a hybrid car. These will only continue to grow more and more environmentally friendly as our ways of getting clean, renewable energy get better. These cars run on part rechargable battery, part gasoline. You use less gasoline than normal and harm the environment less by using electricity over petrol.
Not only is gas very expensive and harmful, but it bad politically because some countries have to rely on foreign gas, making tensions mount. It also causes a lot of pollution to get the gas in the first place. We will run out soon, so it is smart to start the transition as early as you can.
