If you're just beginning then a benchtop saw is a good choice because they are the most affordable of all the table saws and they can be moved fairly easily. There are many advantages to starting out with a portable table saw. Benchtop table saws can accomplish standard ripping and cutting but may be more difficult to use for more trickier cutting. Benchtop table saws may lack the ability to use dado blades or advanced fence and rail systems.
