Have you ever watched television and saw a great southern style which you thought you couldn't pull off? You don't need to be from the south to pull off a great southern style home. It all depends in the accent choices which you choose. Most of the time you'll notice leather, silver, and of course cowboy type themed items in these types of rooms. You always can follow Native American styles as well since they are mostly southwestern designs.
Bold colors are usually used in many Southwestern homes which makes that area seem very cozy and warm. If you aren't to sure of the walls being a deep color try a neutral color with a few throw pillows of the Native American theme to bring that south style into your space. It's an easy toss if you feel you don't like the way the room design is headed.
Masculine upholstered furniture is another important factor for achieving the Southwestern theme. Get furniture pieces made of dark woods. Scratched, faded and worn furniture are a better addition to a Southwestern room because the distressed look better creates that impression of a look from the cowboys-and-Indians era. Make the room as rustic as possible, and you should be able to pull off the look quite well.
Distressed hardwood flooring is often preferred for Southwestern-style rooms because they make the space look lived in and homey. The dark color of the wood maintains the masculine aesthetic that you already started in the furniture. If you are working with plain vanilla flooring material, you could opt to sandpaper the surface or inconsistently varnish the material to get the appearance you need for the look.
Native American designs are also easy to come by at area rug locations. They are great designs and will bring that southwestern feel into your home immediately when they are placed in them. Don't be scared to bring an area rug into your home which you'd never choose before. Remember this is a different type of style and design which southerners bring into their homes and if you want that feel you have to take a few turns the opposite way.
Why not bring back some items from your trip if you visit the south? This will bring in their quality of decor into your newly southwestern home remodel. Make sure when decorating your home that there are colors which flow throughout the room. If the walls are red, try to purchase an area rug and a throw blanket with the red theme so it ties the design together.
The most important factor in a Southwestern room is to make the space look homey and inviting. If it doesn't look that way, redo your decor even if you were able to follow all the other guidelines above. Your Southwestern-inspired spaces should simulate the laid-back attitude that the region is known for, and it is ultimately that kind of ambiance that completes the theme.
Don't be ripped off by imitations. Be sure to buy authentic southwestern rugs directly.

When you set out to redecorate your indoor outhouse most people do not even consider the bathroom vanity as being the most influential part. The main reason that this is so important is because people really enjoy looking at themselves in a mirror to make sure they still look good no matter what time of day it is. This becomes a habit for the majority of people. Be sure not to forget the mirror when you plan out a design for your indoor outhouse because it is the one thing everyone expects to be included in the design.
Your restroom is the one spot in your home that your guests are going to visit alone, which means that they will not be distracted by conversation when observing the way you decided to decorate it. Plus, since as mentioned, checking your appearance while washing your hands is a habit, the bathroom vanity may be the most acknowledged wall decoration that you own throughout your entire home no matter what your decorating tastes are like.
Ironically, even public restrooms have vanity mirrors, so you need to step your style up a bit when you choose the correct bathroom vanity mirror to show off your personal taste. Before you can choose the vanity mirror that will best fit in your restroom however, you need to determine the size you will need to make sure the mirror fits in place.
Depending on your theme that you decide for your bathroom, the custom bathroom vanity will either help with finishing your motif throughout the room or you will end up with a disaster because it broke the flow of the theme. When the vanity and mirror are total opposites in style, it is hard to get them to compliment each other in the theme.
Many people like to use a comfortable theme for their indoor outhouse which typically includes some type of floor rugs and possibly privy seat covers. The most popular paint tones generally used are warm earth tones which usually coordinate with a variety of woods quite well. In order to bring your entire indoor outhouse theme together you should pick out some type of wood trimmed bathroom vanity. If you want a more natural theme you could add some brighter colors such as greens, reds, or blues.
On the flip side, if you have a smaller sink, you do not want to leave the entire wall empty and blank. In fact, the same sized bathroom vanity will only make the room look emptier since it will draw attention to the open expanse. Therefore, you may find it appropriate to choose a mirror that is a few feet wider than the mirror.
When using wood as your theme, it will come together in the bathroom vanity and the accent colors in the towels. To extend outside of the basic fixtures of the bathroom, you can add more detail through glass etching with a gold or silver. It is up to your theme and taste of style on which color you choose if you are going to add a metallic.
